Sohra Clouds | Abstract Meghalaya Art

Collapsible tab content

Sohra Clouds is a captivating vertical landscape presentation celebrating the untamed majesty of Meghalaya's highlands, swirling monsoon mists, and dramatic cliffside waterfalls. Rendered in a contemporary impressionist style with thick, textured palette-knife ridges, sweeping cloud impasto, and delicate vertical waterfall ribbons, this portrait-format canvas captures the ethereal atmosphere of Cherrapunji’s cloud-draped tablelands.

The composition centers on rugged plateau cliffs rendered in dense, earthy sweeps of moss green, deep olive, forest pine, and warm undertones of damp soil. Plunging down the sheer vertical rock faces are two slender, cascading waterfalls rendered in crisp, flowing white strokes that cut through the greenery. Above and between the ridges, billowy sea-of-cloud formations sweep across the landscape in tactile layers of alabaster, soft grey, and pale morning silver, dotted with fine mist speckles that evoke the eternal rain and moisture of the Khasi Hills.

Produced as a museum-grade archival print on heavyweight textured canvas, Sohra Clouds preserves every tactile knife scrape, textured cloud swirl, and delicate water streak with exceptional fidelity. Finished as a contemporary gallery-wrapped canvas with clean finished edges, it serves as an elegant vertical focal point resting upon an entryway console, leaning against a classic paneled wall, or mounted above a living room credenza or bedroom dresser.
