Year 1995 - Cellular phone and Internet service introduced
Year 1998 - MS Subbulakshmi the first musician ever to be awarded the Bharat Ratna
Year 2001 Golden Quadrilateral - High way network of 5,846 km of 4/6 lanes completed in 2012
Year 2001 - Awarded with Bharat Ratna, Bismillah Khan is credited with elevating Shehanai status and bringing it to the concert stage
Year 2002 - The first scientist became President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
Year 2009 - Water on the moon was discovered by India. Chandrayan 1 was launched by ISRO
Year 2012 - India became Polio free
Year 2014 - First nation in the world to do so in its first attempt. ISRO became 4th agency in the world to reach Mars
