Year 1998 - MS Subbulakshmi the first musician ever to be awarded the Bharat Ratna

Year 2001 Golden Quadrilateral - High way network of 5,846 km of 4/6 lanes completed in 2012

Year 2001 - Awarded with Bharat Ratna, Bismillah Khan is credited with elevating Shehanai status and bringing it to the concert stage
